April 17, 2008 - Dispatcher Appreciation Week

Public safety dispatchers in San Diego County answer thousands of 9-1-1 and non-emergency telephone calls from citizens who are in need of law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services. Public safety dispatchers who answer these calls must have the ability to effectively evaluate the information they receive, and then forward the information to other public safety personnel in an accurate and timely fashion. In many cases, their unmatched skills and abilities are put to the test when life or death situations are presented to them. The National City Police Department is proud to have such a talented team of public safety dispatchers at its disposal on a daily basis throughout the year. On April 17, 2008, as part of Dispatcher Appreciation Week, a few team members of the San Diego Chargers came to the National City Police Department to honor and celebrate the hard work our dispatchers provide to the community throughout the year.

The National City Police Department is honored to commend our police dispatchers for providing an invaluable service to the National City community.
